About Me

I have studied early church history from a neutral perspective. By that I mean, I look at church history through the lens provided by what we call “ primary source documents.” These are the writings and words of those who were there.

People call me Hank. Let’s get one thing clear from the jump. I don’t have a theological degree from any denomination. I have a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University. That means I have been trained in looking at complex problems and issues and working out approaches to solving them that understands complex problems are not solved by simple solutions.

In my early years I studied to be a missionary priest in the order of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. I did not become a priest. Over the past 40 years, I have studied ‘theology’ with various denominations, including Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, and Roman Catholic. Frankly, I found each of them puts a slightly different spin on the teachings of Jesus.

I have been actively preaching the Gospel for the past 20+ years. I have authored multiple books dealing with how to apply the teachings of Jesus to real life. They are available both as eBooks and Audiobooks. You can find them here on my site

For 10 years, I was the host of a weekly Gospel music show (the Cowboy Gospel Hour), where I delivered a message, again on using Jesus in our daily life. I have had several podcasts where each week I would deliver audio messages about how we need to actually “be” Christians.

Mission Statement

CTCMinistry exists to preserve and practice the foundational principles of Christianity as they were understood by the earliest followers of Jesus.

This means looking back to the period before Constantine, when Christianity was not aligned with political power and when the teachings of Jesus were practiced primarily through small communities of believers living out their faith.

My focus is simple: return to the core teachings of Christ and apply them to everyday life.

What I Teach

Biblical Teachings

My teaching centers on the New Testament, especially the Gospels, which record the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

I also draw wisdom from portions of the Old Testament that focus on practical wisdom and understanding, particularly Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

Other Old Testament passages are used primarily when they are directly referenced by Jesus or quoted in the Gospels.

Scripture references are taken from the New American Standard Bible (1995).

Simplicity and Authentic Christian Living

At CTC Ministry, the goal is simple: to explore the teachings of Jesus honestly and apply them to the real challenges of everyday life.

Company Description

This ministry invites you to study the words of Jesus for yourself, reflect on their meaning, and consider how they might shape the way you live. I encourage everyone who listens or reads these teachings to open their Bible, examine the scriptures carefully, and decide for themselves how the message of Christ applies to their own lives.
